April/May 2009:
While
there is a serious amount of deadline fever at the Studio, plus to add
on a personal side note, my brother visiting from Scotland with a new
nephew for me to meet, someone decided that it would be a perfect time
to change the OS we are using on the workstations.
If
you cast your eyes to the bottom right hand side of this, and every,
page, you will notice the Ubuntu logo has been replaced with the
Kubuntu logo. We will, as of the 01 May 2009, be running Kubuntu 9.04
64bit on our workstations. With KDE 4.2 comes a whole host of features
that make it more favourable over the "boring" GNOME desktop.
Now
that we are in a new year, it seems only right to have something
forward-thinking and fresh to work with everyday. I think Windows 7 may
have a contender on the horizon. Take a look, if you are of the
skeptical persuasion. April 2009: There
will be an update to the Animation and Downloads portions of the site
within the next week and a half, so keep your eyes peeled. I have also
begun working on a new IP that will be running alongside Project Head
Games. The first animation test for Project Head Games will go
public by next month. It is the introductory sequence to the film and
is visually unique in execution. That's all I have for this entry, see
you soon. March 2009:
The last month has been full of activity. This, of course, is the main reason for lack of updates. I have been "over the
seas" for the last month on a new business venture, but have now
returned to continue work on the short. Because I did not have access
to a PC with enough grunt to carry on with the production, nothing much
has changed in the past month. After the initial shock week back at work is now complete, it is all guns blazing again! More January 2009:
Surprise! It's
a brand spanking new site for Manic Palm. As everyone that is close to
the studio knows, idle is something we are not. Since this new year is
going to be a trying time on the world, the dark nature of the previous
site had to be replaced with something clean and refreshing.
